Right,

I'm going back to Dk on the 10th and I think it would rock if we could manage to organize a movie marathon for some time before then - preferably this weekend!

What I had in mind was a bunch of snacks combined with star wars from start to finish. If not star wars, then lotr. If not lotr then aliens or something else.

All we need is a place to hang out for around 15 hours straight that has a huge television screen, a dvd player, surround sound, and the star wars/lotr movies themselves.

Now.... Is there any way to make this happen? smiley

give us a shout if you're up for it, and let us know what you can contribute towards making this thing happen smiley

coalition of the willing, so far:

Torellion
Yutani (has video projector, aliens trilogy)

Super. Let me know where.

Have the LOTR extended, Godfather trilogy and about 400 other non-sequential dvd's. Just let me know.

Just admit it you're all going to see Sex in the City.

I also have season 1 and 2 of "Miami Vice" on DVD. smiley

We need to get a couple of things figured out, in the following order:

1) Where will we be?
2) What shall we watch?
3) How do we fit dinner in?

As for where we will be, I have no idea. I can't host. I'll bring my projector if needed, but I am sure it'll be better quality with a regular TV.

I have a couple of opinions about what to watch. If it were up to me I'd take one sci-fi, one comedy, one action and if time allowed one horror. For each genre everyone of us could bring a couple of candidates and majority rules as to which one we would watch.
But Tórður is the guest of honor, and I think his choice of Star Wars if we can get them and LOTR if we can't is a good choice.

As for dinner plans, I would really like it if we could take one movie or two, and then go out for dinner. Stretch our legs, rest our eyes and get into a proper movie mood again. If we order in or fix dinner ourselves, I think it'll get a bit cramped.

Hope we can get it up and running, I am already looking forward to it.

what we should watch is not that big a deal for me, and I certainly don't want to be the guest of honor smiley we should watch whatever the majority wants since it seems to be so important.

I'm more concerned about where we can hang out. At my place there are crying babies that have to sleep, and no dvd player.

Is there any chance that maybe Lamech or torellion can host? two guys not yet under the ball & chain and such smiley

It makes no sense arguing about what to watch if we have nowhere to watch it. Maybe the host should decide what to watch, if we ever get one?

I'm all for making some dinner reservations at pizza 67 or wherever. Would be nice to take a dinner break and cozy to eat with friends.

Do you remember a dude called 'Indiana Jones' ? smiley I can bring the trilogy plus a 'behind the scenes' dvd, if you all are interested in the oldies.

For the night, I suggest having a clear schedule for the night, possibly open for an additional movie to end off with for the fanatics! smiley

I'll go through some movies in my head a post a few suggestions later.

Well, I have the old couch, a 19'' tv and and no dvd player, so I would prefer if we found other arrangements.

But the guest of honor demands it of me, I will host it. In honor of our guest of honor. What sayest thou oh honorable one?

I have all 3 seasons of millenium. I can most likely get all seasons of X-Files as well.

It sounds like the marathon could last for a month

I do not have place.

I have been told the marathon is at my place!

Meet up at my place around 16, not earlier, as I need to get to a funeral first... one of my former collegues died a sudden death in Denmark just before New Years Eve. smiley

Anyways, when the funeral is over, I'm all game.. a few limitations more... I can only seat around 5-6 people properly, so first come, first serve!

Anyone got any suggestions on the movies ?

I was starting to think the same thing, with the inability to find a place to host smiley
