The format best reproduced would be that in Poker after Dark. It is a popular show where 6 players compete in a Sit and Go where they put up $20.000 of their own money.
Having a similar set-up in FO where 6 players put 5.000 or 10.000 DKR, where the winner takes it all would be a blast.
The format they use allow them to squeeze about 6 episodes, each lasting 45 minutes for each 6 player tourney the hold.
The only problem is that the table would be surrounded by 6 poker playing strangers, where on Poker after Dark the players are real celebrities by now. Perhaps having 3 real buy-in poker pros and 3 invite only faroese celebs would work.
If you had to do it with poker one should rather go for the fun factor by having regular youths playing then actually trying to invite som sub-standard pro to play on Faroese television.
How about a game of poker, setup as a 4 handed SNG Freeroll, but each hand is played by a group of two (so 8 people total), each player in the group gets a hole card each and cant tell the other what it is. They take turns at betting....in the end the winning pair of the SNG gets concert tickets or whatever.
The conventional view serves to protect us from the painful job of thinking.
