I recently found out the Dragonlance movie has already come. Man was I disappointed when I found out it was 'only' an animated movie smiley
http://www.imdb.com/title/tt0825245/ from imdb.com
I found a trailer on Youtube:

Personally, I think it is a bit off, as one of the posters on youtube says.
somwhere further down, someone suggests a cast for the Dragonlance 'real movie' I will repost it here with comments:

tanis- Ewan Mcgregor
Laurana-Keira knightly (Ali Larter)
Sturm-gary oldman (possibly Sean Bean)
Raistlin - johnny depp (good choice! or maybe David Bowie)
Caramon- drew fuller (Karl Urban or possibly Russell Crowe)
tas- michael j fox (NO! James Robinson)
flint- john rhys davies (NONONO! though a good dwarf, I would never see him as Flint!)
kitiara- catherine zeta jones (Lucy Lawless)
goldmoon- monica bellucci
riverwind- james marsden (Jay Tavare)
alhana starbreeze - eliza dushku
gilthanis- orlando bloom (nope, he's already personified character from LOtR)
silvara- helena bonham carter
tika- amber tamblyn (Here I'd go for Gwyneth Paltrow)

I'd add Jeremy Irons to the cast of Lord Soth or possibly Lord Verminand!

I haven't given names to all, but feel free to add in names or comments the choices! Also, when choosing little people, think technology changes sizes, np smiley
I may have been thinking 'inside the box' Just out of it and go for it!

I own the movie.. It was pretty disapointing I'm sad to say. The voice acting is good, the animation in places is as well.. but mostly it's sub par, at least I think so. And it feels very rushed, as most adventure movies seem to do lately, animated or not.

there is absolutly no charateristics...

A tiny intro showing caramon eating alot, raistlin coughing a few times, sturm opening a door, e.t.c showing their "personalities"
Horrible.

Tasselhof, wasnt small and didnt have anything funny to say at all.
Fizban was in all the scenes in this movie.. (remembering the books he was there a few times.... not all the freaking time.)
The animation was indeed a reminder of youth.. in our old HE-MAN age??
this "movie" coulda been made in the 80's..

I watched it until the end simply because i love the books, but they should remake this horrible cartoon movie.....

Sunday the 25th of May will henceforth be remembered as the day when Vester managed to write an entire passage without a smiley. The official title for this day shall be "Gloomy Sunday" and I recommend that we immediately begin shooting a music video.
