We've had a few topics on songs of the 80's, including the weirdest music videos.

Since the 80's was also a great time in music I think we should have a thread on the Great songs of the 80's.

Reply here with Youtube vid's if possible.

I'll start out with this classic 80's song that I don't tire of easily.

You may not have heard it before but this is a cool 80's song by the Who. In this version Pete is 62 years old so his voice is a bit erhm.... older. Bloody nice guitar btw.

And this is the original song, not the original video, this video apparently has naked tits and asses, that should just make it better .... for some of us.

Why would I want to end every post the same way?

Jon Bon Jovi & Richie Sambora - Living On A Prayer & Wanted

Some things change and some of it is all the same... even 20 years later.

Some of the links here are dead. My plan was to have an ultimate 80's spotify playlist. Seems we started this 6 years ago. Anyway I just wanted to post this awesome song by Anni-Frid Lyngstad called "I know there's something going on", btw this song has been Phil Collinized.

I've added "Artist - Title" to the songs, too lazy to find replacement vids.

I couldn't figure out what those two Who vids you posted were (Eminence Front?), but you should know, right?

"Runaway" is a Bon Jovi song, written in 1980 and originally recorded in 1981 for the so-called "Power Station Demos". The recordings were primarily done by an ensemble simply known as Jon Bongiovi & The Rest. Lead guitar on the original 1980s track was Bon Jovi's neighbour, Dave Sabo, who would later form the group Skid Row. One night after a show, Richie Sambora found Bon Jovi backstage and told him that he should be the guitarist. Bon Jovi wrote him off and did not think much of it but told him to learn the material and show up for rehearsal. Sambora was early and knew the material and Bon Jovi was impressed; in that moment, Sambora became the band's lead guitarist and Bon Jovi was born.

Power Station Demo

The track released in 1984 was recorded in 1982 by Jon Bon Jovi and a group of studio musicians known as "The All Star Review", which included Hugh McDonald (bass), Tim Pierce (guitar) and Roy Bittan (who also played keyboards with Meatloaf and the E street band).

Hmm... 'Shot Through The Heart' is a song on Bon Jovi's first album.

The song is a classic, but the video is a little bit forgotten, personally I think it shows the 80's glam rock life in all its glory, and hope it will be used in documentaries for decades to comesmiley
