I agree - quite a few of those bands/artist have produced albums that will be or are already considered classic.
I agree with Torellion's comment - I've seen/heard Kanye West at Roskilde, and I kept thinking: "This is sort of alright. If that idiot would shut up and let the backing track play, then this would actually be really good."

Had a good party yesterday. We were outside in the 28 degree weather, enjoying the barbeque, cider, beer, drinks, meeting new people etc.
Got pretty plastered and cannot remember much of the following night itself, so today when I woke up, having slept on my floor cradling a towel, I was really wondering why I had written "The Floor Is Made Of Lava" on my arm. Had I been hallucinating or was this a clue for something else...
Turns out it's a band, and quite a good one at that.

From what I can stitch together from memory: We were quaffing Manhattans like it was some new whiskey flavored lemonade and not a 30% abv cocktail. I asked a guy about a song that was playing, I knew it from a commercial somewhere but had no clue who it was. He said "The Floor Is Made of Lava". My phone was spastic so we did it old school and wrote the name down on my hand.
Come the next day all of this wasn't really apparent to me, lying on the floor clutching a towel, reading "The Floor Is Made of Lava" on my hand. To add to the confusion it's hot as hell under the black roof here on the 5th floor when it's 28c+ outside.
Anyhow it was one of the weirder but ultimately harmless awakenings I've had.
Anyhow now I've found the song again. It's pretty damn good
