There's a giant suspension bridge in LA? I think you mean San Francisco. But it's a trick question...
It's really Lisbon, Portugal, and it's not a coincidence that the bridge looks very similar to The Golden Gate in San Francisco.
Q: In that picture is a cafí©, which I've been to. How high up is that cafí©?
(Norlander is not eligible to answer this question )

I vill ask ze questions!
Ok, so here's a hint: It's not some random cafí©. The cafí© is not important; its location is.

How is this for an answer, considering I know nothing about Lisbon?:
Just off the Rua do Ouro is Lisbon's most splendid elevador, once built to connect the low and high points of Baixa and Bairro Alto, now carries tourists vertically 45 metres to a cafí© and a host of superb views of the city. Built in 1902 by an apprentice of Gustave Eiffel, whose influence is quite apparent, this neo-gothic structure is known as the Elevador de Santa Justa or the Elevador do Carmo, owing to the Carmo church it used to link to.

You are correct. The elevator is in the lower middle of Norlander's picture, and the remains of the Carmo church are to the right of it.
Your question.

I have had this one lying around for a while, so hope I haven't asked this already.
Who is this?
An American writer. For some, he may be more famous because of whom he was married to, rather than his work.

Crap... I tried looking through the last several pages to see if I had asked it and couldn't find it.
Nevermind.
I don't have time to think of a question just now, so I'll let one of you guys find one. The first question to be posted will stand.

We all know "Uncle Sam", the male personification of the U.S.
What is the female personification of the United States of America?

Also know as Lady Liberty
The French Revolution introduced Liberty as the definitive symbol for the overthrow of oppression, and by the end of the 19th century, Lady Liberty became the undisputed female emblem of the United States - as portrayed bearing the torch of freedom by Auguste Bartholdi in the Statue of Liberty.

Close, but not quite.
She's the popular image of "american" freedom. Not the female "Uncle Sam".

Then you must be referring to 'Columbia'
The female personification "Columbia" has seldom been seen since the 1920s.
