But what motivated the electronic run? Just the general instability of the market reaching a critical point? I still dont understand whats happening, but neither does anybody else it seems.

Remember the day I sat in your kitchen and talked about how the economic was going to hell in a hand basket, and that something drastic had to be done? That was the day after Lehman Brothers went bankrupt. This electronic bank run was the morning after we had that talk.
