I just love how they're multiplying by a constant they made up. Reminds me of pyramids, for some reason... smiley

"Pyramidernes gåder"

I still have it! smiley

Hehehe. Yeah those constants sure are amazing. I once heard that when you multiply the sides of a pyramid with a constant you get π, and if you multiply them with a totally different constant you get e...

One of the comments -> "Amazingly, I've been able to divide the number of Transformers toys I owned in 1992 by the cubic root of my age, then multiplied it by the distance travelled by my car in kilometres, then divided it by the square of the number of girlfriends I've had - the result turns out to be the exact same number as my date of birth expressed in binary multiplied by my last income tax payment!"

David Cumming (one of the authors) replied to this post with the following "clarification":
Dear Dr. Myers,

I didn't believe the equation either. I am a skeptic and a great fan of people like Sam Harris, Richard Dawkins, etc. so please don't tar this with the pseudoscience brush because it's not appropriate in this case.

I'd ask you to consider the following. In the equation, pi divided by 0.0123456789 equals the 21 cm wavelength for the hydrogen fine transition.

So the equation is frequency of hydrogen fine transition times wavelength of hydrogen fine transition equals the speed of light - a straight down the line 100 per cent correct physics equation.

The Thoms (or megalithic yards) are just a conversion factor that occurs on both sides of the equation and so can be taken out of the equation by simple arithmetic. They are in the equation because this directly relates the equation to the polar circumference of the Earth.

I hope this makes it clear. I understand the implications are mind-boggling. But the equation is simple physics and will become mainstream knowledge.

If you're not acquainted with the physics, please get a friend knowledgeable in physics to check this.

Kind regards,

David

tha big question that I derive from all such hypothesis is, How in the hell do these people have the time to come up with such theories? And perhaps more importantly, Who the hell finances them while they dream up such an utter waste of everyones time and energy?

@Grizlas: That deserves this...I've been saving it for a special occationsmiley

works with no issues in normal version of Firefox. I'm guessing you either did not do CTRL+F5 or are using some adblock plugin.
