Maybe I should have written: this is what it means to be presidential. I can imagine hundreds of millions of people choosing this human to speak for them as their leader; it seems reasonable. His gravitas and oratory abilities are exceptional and a far, far cry from Biden, Trump and Harris.

Oh this I agree with 100 its just so sad that most people experience what you wrote "I had simply forgotten what the standards were". We've been clickedbaited, click fatigued, news outlets having news for the sake of news without substance for too long.
When I wrote my reply earlier today and gave a shallow thought about greatness Johan Dahl came to mind when he expressed "so be it". I remember chuckling and saying to a college "give this man a beer", not that he's a beacon to aim for, more in the sence of F it.
There is just too much of cover my ass in politics and buisness.

Absolutely. Johan Dahl showed some backbone that time - very commendable.
And yes, the state of media today is just...tragic.
