Looks like good detective work for the most part, except I don't understand how he can take one short look at that photo and immediately narrow it down to the pacific northwest, then Seattle.
That's the part that I would like explained - not how houses line up with his red and yellow lines.

He spends 1000s (or 10000s) of hours on GeoGuessr, at some point you get to understand the general flora and shape of places I guess.
